Health Summit on Chemical Exposures

Saturday,  April 6th, 2013

Conf. Time: 8 am to 5 pm

Location: The Carnegie Science Center
1 Allegheny Ave, Pittsburgh, PA
Google Maps URL: http://goo.gl/maps/xP7UK

Purpose: Recent technological advances in directional drilling and high volume slickwater hydraulic fracturing have stimulated the rapid development of a complex industrial network. In addition to multi-acre well pads, this network includes compressor stations, cryogenic separation plants, crystalline silica sand transfer stations, landfills that accept radioactive drill cuttings, and open impoundments for freshwater, flowback and other hazardous liquids.

Incidences of human and animal health impacts from living near these facilities are increasingly documented, principally through the efforts of concerned citizens and community-based action groups.

The Pittsburgh Health Summit will serve to further amplify the voices of people who suffer with symptoms of chemical exposure as they seek protection from air and waterborne contaminants generated by the rapidly expanding shale gas and oil industry. The event will be facilitated by Dr. Gerald Groves.

Registration: Register here. There is no cost to attend but registration is required. Lunch and light snacks will be provided.
