Update: Marcellus & Manufacturing Development Conference (MMDC) goes virtual!

Content will be offered virtually through multiple subscription-based online events!

In light of guidance from the federal government, and out of an abundance of caution, the WVMA has decided to change the format of this year’s Marcellus and Manufacturing Development Conference. Instead of our usual arrangement, content will be offered virtually through multiple subscription-based online events. Thanks to our generous MMDC Sponsors and Corporate Partners there is no cost to WVMA, WVONGA, or IOGA members to participate! However, new registration IS required.

Those who’ve already registered and paid for this year’s MMDC can elect to receive a refund or maintain a credit with the WVMA. Credits can be redeemed for future events, including the All-State Legislative Dinner, Winter Convention or our Manufacturing Advocacy and Mobilization Symposium (new for 2020).

Please email kristen@wvma.com with your preference. You should have received a cancellation notice if you booked accommodations at the Marriott Waterfront Place referencing the MMDC. If you did not, please contact the hotel directly to confirm that your room is cancelled, no fees are being assessed.

Please stay tuned as we will be rolling out e-conference information in the coming weeks. The WVMA thanks all of our members, attendees, sponsors, speakers and associates as we plan for the future while adjusting to the “new normal.” We look forward to resuming our program and celebrating the tenth year of the Marcellus and Manufacturing Development Conference in 2021!

Why should petrochemical companies build in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio? For one thing, don’t expect regulation of shale gas drilling, Michael Graney, executive director of the West Virginia Development Office, predicted in his presentation.

“Contrasted to other U.S. regions, Tri-State region is industry-supportive and industry-friendly,” read a slide that Graney, who was appointed by West Virginia Governor Jim Justice in September 2018, presented to the conference. “Virtually no risk of drilling restrictions.”
