My home was located in a quiet portion of the county, with woods all around. There is now 3 well pads constructed 2 active, one not ready. They hit an extremely rich vein behind me. A compressor station is being completed about 2500' from my home. My neighbor is even closer to the operations. They came, they took, they keep taking, they have destroyed property and continue. Their pipeline construction is an insult to any property they approach, the streams are filling with silt and suds. A water pump station is being installed to pump out of the South Fork of the Hughes River, and a rumored dam construction faces us. Roads and traffic is a nightmare, and this is located where you have to drive at least 10 miles to get to a town you can shop in. So many calls to various agencies that are supposed to protect ourselves, our lands, and our waters have resulted in nothing. Traffic laws are nonexistent in the area. Various calls have resulted in nothing. Our children, homes, property, pets mean nothing to them. I am a resident of Ritchie County. They are fracking about a mile from our (used to be quiet) country home. I am very concerned as a parent and citizen in this community! The environmental concerns are of course an issue. My main concern though, is the safety of our children. The lives of the children on the school buses that run on these roads are in danger! My child's school bus has to cross a busy 4 lane highway. The volume of traffic has doubled because of the fracking industry. Then the bus has to put up with passing coal trucks from a mine and very large trucks from fracking. They are fracking everywhere on our roads. It seems that the coal and gas company think that they are more important than the safety of our children. These trucks are also running all night long. They are loud and need to be regulated. I would like to connect with people in my community who are also concerned. Are any of your organizations addressing these problems?
