Hi All. The CPC voted to oppose adding the dirty deal on the NDAA! Huge thanks to all who’ve been lobbying them for months!

After we succeeded in keeping the dirty deal off the base text for the NDAA that the House is likely to send to the Senate, Manchin dropped the latest version of his dirty deal. It’s largely the same as the last, except it’s even more fossil-fuel friendly.

It tightens deadlines for environmental review and ensures even more of the priority projects to be expedited are fossil fuels. Changes from the last version are outlined here:

https://www.energy.senate.gov/services/files/66701873-A0CC-4DD3-A5A0-CF3EA05AB3D2?

Manchin is now trying to get the dirty deal amended onto the NDAA when it comes to the Senate.

So, we’re driving calls to Senators. The best thing folks can do is call their senators and ask their networks to call their senators. Everyone has to call twice to get both senators. If helpful, you can use and share the following phone number and script:

  ........................ (888) 997 – 5380

“Hi, my name is ___, and I&#039;m a constituent. I’m urging my senator to vote NO on any amendment that would advance Senator Manchin’s dirty permitting deal. I&#039;m deeply concerned about any legislation that fast-tracks fossil fuels &amp; weakens environmental justice protections.”

Please also call Senator Schumer. His DC number is (202) 224 – 6542. Ask him to stop supporting the dirty deal!</description>
