For a $6b Pipeline, which will expose several hundred Virginia pristine trout stream and wetlands to the permanent risk of irreversible damage, will expose thousands of Virginians to the permanent lifetime risk of bodily injury and death, and will expose the drinking water supplies for millions of Americans to the permanent risk of irreparable damage, the $0.058b fund, representing less than 1% of the total pipeline cost, is horrifying and astonishingly inadequate. It is no wonder that the ex-Governor inked this agreement in his last days, without consulting technical experts, without public input, and without even a public announcement. And this from a governor who promised transparency and protecting Virginia citizens and the environment? Shame on him. This deal must be unmade!
