Climate denial is rife in congress and state legislatures. Externalized costs, the damages to the land and homeowners is ignored, and the governments are too arrogant and stingy to enforce their own regulations. There is plenty of reserves in other places which are cheaper and easier and safer to remove, as anyone reading this can easily check in Wikipedia, but we are busy alienating them and fighting so our last remaining oil and gas reserves are squeezed out of the 4% of the earths dry land commanded by our government.
