The part banks play in this must not be forgotten. They loan the money. Once that money is out, it must come back with interest. It will come from the ratepayers of the cost plus, government regulated, utilities. If the pipelines prove to be overbuilt, it is the public at large that is hurt.

Banks also have tremendous influence with the media, also. Media justification is about all anyone has to read. From a financial standpoint, ultimately, there is no reason to consider global warming or changing technology. It is a locked in “profit center.”
