UPDATE: 2nd Person Dies From Gas Explosion In Tyler Co.

UPDATE: WTAP, News 47, 4/16/2013

Wick, WV (AP) - A second worker injured in an accident at a natural gas operation has died.

The Tyler County Sheriff's Office tells media outlets that 43-year-old Raymond Miller of Jeannette, Pa, has died at the West Penn Burn Center in Pittsburgh.

Miller was one of three workers injured in Thursday's accident at a Eureka Hunter Pipeline operation near Wick. Fifty-six-year-old Bruce Phipps of Marietta, Ohio, died last week. The sheriff's office says it doesn't have any information on the third worker.

Authorities have said the workers were injured in an explosion at a compressor station. But Eureka's parent, Magnum Hunter Resources, has said it was a flash fire at a "pig receiving station." Pigs are devices used to clean out or to inspect pipelines.

Magnum says the workers were employed by contractors. The explosion occurred at the Twin Hickories compressor station.

Emergency Management Director Tom Cooper said three workers were transported by medical helicopter to hospitals. The sheriff's department says a fourth person also was injured and taken to a hospital.
