UPDATE: US 22 West Now Open Following Fracking Fluid Spill in Brooke County

Updated: Jun 27, 2013 6:31 PM EDT

Authorities have reopened both lanes of US 22 heading westbound.

ORIGINAL STORY

A truck carrying fracking fluid has overturned on US 22 westbound causing the fluid to spill onto the road way in Brooke County.

Authorities have shut down one lane of US 22 heading westbound. Crews are at the scene working to clean up the spill between Harmon Creek and Three Springs Drive. The Brooke County EMA Director says the 300 gallon tote spill was HGV-1, a water gelling agent.

Authorities say the Harmon Creek Exit is closed.
