I was just wondering how many Spills and or seeps in the last few years? and How many of Gallons /Hectares of Water has been Poisoned? What is happening to the Ground Water Supply for Our Children?? How many Rivers and Streams are being Poisoned as we Speak? How many are now Dead???

So what if a few people die as long as the gas company makes as much money as possible! Really they should have just stopped drinking water and taking showers.

There’s tons of things in the world that kill people, so lets just not do anything about any of them.

Those of us who look at the evidence and conclude that fracking is NOT a universal threat to life, any more than alcoholic beveredges, for example, which kill thousands every year.

Those of us who do not see the natural gas industry as anything more or less than a necessary component of the energy supply needed to sustain modern life would propose drafting a “Bill of Rights” assuring us that our right to “Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness” (The rest of the bill) is not interferred with by radicals.

The above suggestions, for example, making drilling companies responsible for paying for testing of water are ok as far as they go, but they all assume that fracking has to be permitted, and the only thing left to do is regulate it more tightly. I’ve come to think this is a mistake. It does not have to be permitted. It can be banned outright, using the approach developed by the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund. A community can draft a Community Bill of Rights that specifically bans hydrofracking on the the basis that it violates the basic civil rights of the residents of the community to life. Because it destroys what people need in order to live, water.
