An interesting discussion is definitely worth comment.

There's no doubt that you need to publish more on this issue, forced pooling.
It may not be a taboo subject but typically folks don't speak about this subject.

To the next! Many thanks!!

I understand the difficulty gas producers would have developing a given gas pool if landowners against drilling were checker-boarded throughout the pool. However forced pooling is also forced royalty rate which is just dead wrong. The gas companies don't use the gas they extract from land instantly. They store it somewhere else until demand or other business factors create a financial climate where maximum profits can be made. Since they are storing the gas anyway there is no reason they shouldn't be forced to store the gas (percentage of the pool) taken from the landowners that are not inclined to sell at the price offered in exchange for the right to extract from the pool. A given landowner could then decide when and if it was to his/her benefit to sell, not the gas company.

Also as far as I know there are no natural gas reserves established anywhere in the world as there are petroleum. What if future research discovers a use for methane that far exceeds the value for use as fuel?
