I have recently been informed that I own a small piece of land along with some other distant family members. Chesapeake wants to frac on the land and I was told others signed over their mineral rights already for $200. (though it is possible the mineral broker lied about that). I do not have the personal resources to fight this in court, if that is even possible, but I will not sign over any mineral rights and am totally opposed to this drilling. Can someone tell me if there is anything I can do? Are there any activist groups assisting in cases like this. Thank you for any help you can offer. Hello.
